MAGALOREAN BUNS

Here's a simple recipe for Mangalore buns:
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ripe banana, mashed
- 1/4 cup yogurt
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- A pinch of salt
- Oil for frying
Instructions:
1. In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed banana, yogurt, and sugar. Mix well.
2. In a separate bowl, sift the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together.
3. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, mixing well after each addition. Knead the dough until it becomes soft and non-sticky.
4. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for about 2 hours.
5. After the resting period, divide the dough into small balls and flatten them into discs.
6. Heat oil in a deep pan or skillet. Fry the flattened dough discs until they turn golden brown on both sides.
7. Remove the buns from the oil and place them on a paper towel to absorb any excess oil.
8. Serve the Mangalore buns warm with coconut chutney or any other dip of your choice.
